I am married to Don Johnston and I have two children.

Education: I
received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton in Music
Therapy. I recently received my Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan
University in Bachelor of Art, Education Leadership.
Work Experience: I
began my career as a teacher assistants at Jackson Intermediate School
District. I was then hired by the State of Michigan as a music
therapist at Coldwater Regional Psychiatric Hospital and then
transferred to the Adrian Training School as a music therapist working
with juvenile offenders. Now I am principal at Sacred Heart School.
Leadership Philosophy:
Putting children first is the most important aspect as well as growth
of administration, students and staff. It is vital that I collaborate
with staff, students and the community to create a vested interest and
participation from all partners. I feel it is important to lead with
understanding and openness. I find it important to lead as a learner a
mentor and a teacher. I accept challenges to promote the growth and
betterment of everyone. Finally, it is important to be guided by
ethical principles, mission, vision, beliefs, values and passions of
all groups.
Most Rewarding Teaching Moment:
I have had many rewarding experiences as principal of which many happen
daily with laughter and sharing of God’s love.
