Family Status: I
am married to Sarah Baker Korth, and I have a daughter, Laura, who
lives at home. Both Jennifer and Justine are married and living in
Reading, MI and Sierra Vista, AZ.

Education: I
graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1967 and then graduated with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education, in 1971, from
Eastern Michigan University. In 1996, I completed requirements for my
Elementary Endorsement and a Social Science minor for Siena Heights
University.
Work Experience: I
taught Middle and High School Industrial Arts classes at the Lake
Placid Public schools in Lake Placid, Florida for 4 years and then
spent the next 28 years in the Restaurant business, managing and
supervising McDonald’s and then Ponderosa Restaurants, in Michigan and
Florida. I have been teaching fifth and sixth grade at Sacred Heart
School since 1999. This year I will teach students in the 6th and 7th grades.
Teaching Philosophy:
My teaching philosophy is centered on several learning theories. I
believe that individual intelligence is constructed by using our senses
through a process of inquiry, in a nurturing environment which allows
for questioning, through the use of multiple intelligences.
